Sustainable Finance and ESG Lead


A seasoned infrastructure and sustainable finance professional with a proven track record in project and corporate finance, structured finance, and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).

He has held leadership positions at prominent institutions, including PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (SMI), where he served as Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he successfully raised over USD 4 billion to support various investments and financing initiatives. He pioneered Indonesia’s first blended finance platform, “SDG Indonesia One,” and established the Sustainable Finance Unit to drive investments in renewable energy and climate change projects. His efforts were instrumental in securing accreditation for the Company as the first Southeast Asian institution recognized by the Green Climate Fund, further advancing green projects in collaboration with multilateral and bilateral institutions. He also led the company in achieving a strong credit rating and a provisional ESG rating of AA from MSCI, highlighting its leadership in sustainability.

Prior to his role as CFO, he served as Director for Project Development, Advisory, and Sustainable Finance at SMI, where he oversaw the development of numerous PPP and, managed grants for technical assistance to local governments in assessing municipal financing facilities. He was also responsible for managing the sustainable financing portfolio through various financing activities, including senior loans, quasi-equity, and guarantees as de-risking instruments, including managing the USD 200 million of geothermal fund. He oversaw grant management for renewable energy, energy efficiency, and SDG investments, and secured funding support from various climate funds and philanthropies. His extensive network with government agencies, private sectors, and international organizations has also been crucial in helping the institution or clients to achieve its financial and environmental objectives

He has also held positions as a Lead Advisor at the Policy Advisory Unit for the Vice Minister of Transportation, providing strategic advice on transportation policy and infrastructure projects. He assisted MOT policymakers in originating and executing key policy measures to ensure the successful implementation of transportation policy reforms, including supporting the National Ports Master Plan (NPMP) and Railways Master Plan. He also developed analytical frameworks for key transportation issues to facilitate insightful, objective, and decisive research supporting the policy-making process.

His experience also includes working as a Director at PT Independent Research Indonesia, where he assisted clients in project finance, valuation, and restructuring.  He has also worked as an Infrastructure Sector Specialist at the Asian Development Bank, contributing to infrastructure development and reform. He monitored the implementation of Infrastructure Reform Sector Development Program, and assisted sector ministries, and local governments in the preparation and execution of model PPP projects (e.g., toll roads, ports, airports, and railways) through the Project Development Facility.

Before, he was a Program Officer to the Committee for Acceleration of Infrastructure Provision (KKPPI) and a consultant to the various World Bank Infrastructure finance programs. Under the World Bank TA, he was responsible for the preparation of project’s key documents that include project implementation plans, technical audit manuals, monitoring manuals, evaluation methodology, Procurement and tender documents, and contracts.

Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable development and has been instrumental in driving the growth of Indonesia’s infrastructure and renewable energy sectors.
