Shani is a consultant at Castlerock Consulting who has more than 8 years’ experience in working with the energy sector, particularly renewable energy. She advanced her career starting with being Solution Solar Engineer in one of solar EPC in Indonesia in 2017, then she shifted into the field of energy policy and energy development activities by being a Research Analyst in ASEAN Centre for Energy in 2017-2021, where she contributed to research and policy advocacy for ASEAN nations. Her work includes: 1) Lead Author of ASEAN Feed-in-Tariff Report which is a joint collaboration with China Renewable Energy Engineering Institute, 2) Project Lead for ASEAN Energy Database System (AEDS) and ASEAN Energy Insights.  

Before joining Castlerock Consulting,  Shani spent a year (2021-2022) working with Allotrope Partners who co-lead the Clean Energy Investment Accelerator initiative which focused on helping the Commercial & Industrial (C&I) sector in Indonesia and other markets in transitioning to renewable energy which includes policy advocacy to Indonesian utility and government to develop an innovative corporate RE procurement options. She contributed to lead an analysis to improve Indonesian Utility’s Renewable Energy Certification (REC) product. Her areas of expertise range from renewable energy policy and regulatory analysis in the Southeast Asia region particularly in Indonesia and RE procurements. 

Shani holds a BSc in Electrical Power Engineering from ITB (2009)  and MSc in Sustainable Energy Technology from TU Delft, Netherlands (2013).
